Overview
Throughout the entire supervisory relationship, my primary supervisory responsibility is to safeguard clients while promoting the supervisee's clinical skills in creating an inviting, safe and collaborative learning environment for clients to disclose, explore alternative ways of viewing, experiencing, understanding and interacting with the world around them.

Outcomes
Practical skills taught include substance abuse and mental health assessment, collaborative treatment planning using Motivational Interviewing paradigm, case conceptualization model, Federal, state and local regulations regarding confidentiality, patient rights, documentation of clinical sessions and case management services, assessment, management and documentation of high risk clinical situations, diagnosis and determining appropriate therapeutic approaches, identification and management of ethical issues that arise in the course of providing services, maintaining confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws and ethical standards and understanding situations where confidence can be breeched, establishing and maintaining therapeutic boundaries, appropriate use of self in the counseling process and tactics to enhance the effectiveness of the therapeutic relationship.
